Twista is one of the best rappers ever in my opinion. I have thought that for years and I am not even a big fan of him. He doenst have as many hits as the other rappers that get mentioned but his lyrics and rapping style is one of the best and very impressive. Just listen to his verse on Po Pimpin. What yall think?
Too many mediocre albums to consider him one of the best...at least that's what I believe. However, his flow/verse on Do or Die's "Money Flow" (on the same album as Po Pimp) was vicious. Also loved the way he ripped "Kill Us All" (on Kamikaze) to shreds...

He tried SO hard to go mainstream. Adrenaline Rush is a classic album, period. Kamikaze was a great album but didn't match Adrenaline Rush and it's been ALL downhill from there. Twista is a heavy influence of mine but he can't make good albums at all. his latest album is the best album he dropped since kamikaze. not great, but its solid. so right when niggas might count him out he turn around & show he can still do it (but on the flip side some slept on it cuz they didn't expect him to have much worth checkin out).
songs like "wetter" (a good sequel to "get it wet") "misunderstood" "american gangster" "hustla" "talk to me" "fire" "yo body" "wanna see em buss" "yellow light" were highligts on the album.
he still had some bullshit (ie birthday, billionaire, walking on ice & on top) on there, but it didn't overpower his latest effort like some of his lp's before it.
twista's best albums are Adrenaline Rush, Kamikaze, Resurrection & Category F5.
with Adrenaline Rush being his magnum opus. not to mention he killed alot of his features throughout his career.

ITA,espcially on his CF5 release...I'm hella biased cause he's my fav rapper period,so obviously he tops my list.But I can also see y he maybe overlooked by many,his discography may not be da best but his lyrical skills puts him up there.If we're goin off albums alone then no he's not top 10/20 material,but if we're goin off actual skills(lyrics/flow etc)then i believe he deserves a mention.Like I said im bias'd tho

Dude got talent out the ass but he doesn't consistantly put out albums like he should for sumbody who's been around as long as he has. It should be a lot more twista material in stores.
I actually think he's a victim of his own talent. Most top 10 worthy rappers are known for rappin bout a certain topic whether it be bout sellin dope, story tellin, women etc. But twista so damn talented and versatile to the point where he's not known for one thing in particular to the point where fans can't place him like they can other rappers. He doesn't have a "lane". He's even hard to argue for cuz all you can say bout him is that "he go hard". Dude would stand out the most no matter who he was on a song wit. But he'll never be mentioned as a great cuz his albums and following will never be that big.
He has what I like to call "Rasheed Wallace" syndrome. Sheed can shoot from anywhere on the court, dunk on damn near anybody, unselfish n all that good stuff. But dude aint never mentioned as the best. He's not even a starter rite now smh

His albums are ass though. Only albums I like pretty much every song on is Adrenaline Rush, the songs he was on with Do Or Die, Speedknot Mobstas albums, and Category F5 are probably the best albums. The others are forgettable.

People look at fast rappers as a novelty, and that's all he is now. He's not as melodic as Bone Thugs and the market just isn't there. Its mind numbing music if not done correctly, which is why Bone has done better numbers in my opinion.
Bone mite have done better num in da late 90s but since kamikaze twista's done better numbers.Neither r puttin up any now because as u stated its viewed as a novelty now.Its fascinatin 2 most but not as entertainin as it once was in da 90s.Hopefully they can both get ppl back on it,da midwest has 2 much talent imo
Twista is a pretty one dimensional rapper. That's why I wouldn't put him in my top. I mean, he MASTERED that ONE dimension...but never really did anything else that stood out to me. He definitely got some classics, but in general I think he's probably rated right where he should be.
