Man you don't need no one to do that. Just goto that forum I posted a link to and they will have more than enough settings for you.![]()
what is this calibration shit? they tried to get me to spend 300 bucks for some guy to come over and adjust my picture.
this being my first hd tv, anyone have any suggestions as to how i can optimize my viewing experience w/out dropping $300 on the geek squad?![]()
MAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNN... DirecTV will be setting up my HD shit today... I went with the DVR HD box- which is 1080P... I got a feeling Im going to be willing to watch a much broader selection of shows just off how clean the shit looks! LOL.
Im also hyped that Blu Ray's seem to be really coming down in price lately... hell, the "Law Abiding Citizen" Blu Ray was just a couple dollars more than the DVD right @ release!
I recently bought my first new tv retail since about 1998 when I bought a 19inc Phillips..(which is STILL in almost perfect working condition), the other TV I bought from ebay...With all that said I wasnt really experiencing true HD with DirectTV till I got the new TV last month, and DAMN the shit is a HUUUUUUUUUGE difference....their HD channels for sports in 2nd to none, esp if you get NBA OR NFL tix.
and yes Im late but Blu-Ray is da shit!!!!!
@LB I didnt buy any warranty from anywhere afterall.....***knocks on wood****

still lovin' my 46" tosh but i only really fucks w/ it for ps3...haven't got the hd box yet![]()
Yeah, professional calibration is probably only necessary if you're REALLY particular about getting the optimal picture. They access hidden service menus in the TV and use special equipment and shit, and I don't know much about it, but the shit they adjust is much more detailed and complicated than just contrast/brightness/saturation/hue.
But Best Buy supposedly doesn't do a very good job. If you were to get professional calibration done, you should go with an independent technician who specializes in it.
