Filming for "Captain America: The First Avenger" is underway in England, so it was only a matter of time before more photos from the set began to hit the 'net.

Previously, we got a look at some USO-style set pieces, including a tank, medical tent, and a big ol' stage. This time around, we jump straight to the real goods: Captain America in costume and in action, and a shot of some suped-up motorcycles ridden by black-suited henchmen (HYDRA?).

Posted over at The Daily Mail, the six photos don't show "Captain America" lead actor Chris Evans in the familiar red, white, and blue costume, but they do show his stunt double in the star-spangled suit (with shield), both on and off a US Army motorcycle.

I've posted two of the most interesting images here, but here are some of the elements worth noting about the pics:

- It looks like Cap's fans were heard when it comes to the wings on the side of his helmet.

- The presence of a holster on Captain America's uniform and the rifle strapped to the motorcycle would seem to indicate that Cap is back to his gun-slinging roots for this 1940s origin story.

- Cap's shield seems to have taken a few shots. I can't help wondering how this shield relates to the one seen in Tony Stark's office in "Iron Man" and "Iron Man 2."

- And is that a Red Skull patch on those black-suited motorcyclists' sleeves? Also, the symbol on the side of the bikes looks an awful lot like the HYDRA emblem.

Nothing to wow over yet, but I'm still anticipating the movie :tu

Based on the DC Comics series/graphic novel “Superman/Batman:
Supergirl” by Jeph Loeb, Michael Turner & Peter Steigerwald,
Superman/Batman: Apocalypse is produced by animation legend Bruce Timm and directed by Lauren Montgomery (Justice League: Crisis on Two
Earths) from a script by Academy Award-nominated screenwriter Tab Murphy (Gorillas in the Mist).

In Superman/Batman: Apocalypse, a spaceship splashes down in Gotham City Harbor -- leading Batman and Superman to encounter a mysterious Kryptonian with powers as great as those of the Man of Steel. The Kryptonian is soon revealed to be Kara, cousin of Superman, who takes her under his wing to educate her about the ways of Earth. However, the villainous Darkseid has other plans. Seeing an opportunity to finally defeat Superman, Darkseid abducts and gains control of Kara, utilizing the powerful Kryptonian to do his bidding. It’s up to Batman and Superman to save Kara, but they’ll have to take the fight to Darkseid within his hostile world – where unknown, deadly threats lurk around every corner, including a brainwashed Kryptonian able to match Superman blow-for-blow.

Fan favorites Tim Daly (Private Practice) and Kevin Conroy (China
Beach) return to their seminal roles as Superman and Batman, respectively. The celebrity-laden guest cast is headed by Andre Braugher (Men of a Certain Age) as the daunting Darkseid. Sci-Fi heroine Summer Glau (Serenity/Firefly, Terminator: The Sarah Connor
Chronicles) provides the voice of Supergirl, and seven-time Emmy Award winner Ed Asner (Up) reprises his Superman: The Animated Series/Justice League role as Granny Goodness.

Produced by Warner Premiere, DC Entertainment and Warner Bros.
Animation, Superman/Batman: Apocalypse will be distributed by Warner Home Video on September 28, 2010.

Several details from next summer's X-Men: First Class have been revealed thanks to an informal phone interview AICN conducted with the film's producer (and director of the first two X-Men films) Bryan Singer.

First Class is said to take place in the 1960's and will heavily play with the style of the day. Audiences will see John F. Kennedy as President and the parallel storyline of Martin Luther King and Malcolm X will play in the background. Overall, the look is said to emulate the original X-Men costumes far more than previous films have, though the films' chronology pre-dates the First Class story in the comics, meaning that many of the expected characters (Cyclops and Marvel Girl are listed by name) will not appear.

The villain of the film is, as rumored, Sebastian Shaw (played by Kevin Bacon). January Jones' Emma Frost will appear as the Hellfire Club's White Queen as well.

The central focus of the film is the friendship between Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) and Eric Lensherr (Michael Fassbender) and how it falls apart. Xavier will not be depicted as bald or in a wheelchair for the majority of the film, though we will learn what cripples him.

AICN's article makes frequent James Bond comparisons, noting that the film will heavily play up the '60s style, but with retro-future technology in a setting that spans the globe. Russia (a.k.a. the U.S.S.R.) specifically is mentioned.

X-Men: First Class is slated to hit theaters on June 3, 2011.
