Man Pleads Guilty In Philant Johnson Murder Case

The driver of a vehicle involved in an Ohio gun battle that killed Philant Johnson, longtime friend of T.I. during a wild highway chase has pleaded guilty to manslaughter and other charges.
Forty-one-year-old Padron Thomas was initially charged with murder. But he struck a deal with prosecutors that allowed him to plead to lesser charges in exchange for testifying in December against his brother, who pulled the trigger.
A judge on Wednesday scheduled a sentencing hearing for Nov. 17. Thomas faces 10 years in prison. He's already serving 17 years on unrelated federal drug charges.
Thomas's younger brother, Hosea Thomas, was sentenced to 66 years in prison for shooting Philant Johnson in May 2006 after a T.I. concert in Cincinnati.
Three others were injured in the shooting. The Grammy-winning Atlanta rapper wasn't hurt.

Okay, let me understand this right. In may of 06 T.I. was shot at after he did a show. He wasn’t hit, but his friend was fatally wounded. Now he is in prison for a year buying guns, can a man get some self-protection, or at one point of celebrity status do you have to hire a bodyguard and forget self protection. Lil Wayne, for example, tour bus pulled over for probable cause smelled of marijuana. The arresting officer said wayne threw a louis bag with a gun in it down. Almost 3 years later they present DNA in a gun charge case! saying that they can link it to wayne using an uncertain method using very little DNA. Facing 3 years in prison he cops a plea deal where he’ll likely serve 1 year, although 1 of the guns in question is registered to the worldwide artist in Florida where he now resides. So for waynes sake I hope that if any goes down in the future it happens in FL. Rappers now days don’t rely on police or bodyguards if they did there would be more Pacs and BIGs with unsolved murders.
